Touch ID

Adds fingerprints so you can unlock your Mac and approve purchases and other requests with Touch ID.

In macOS 27

System Settings then Touch ID & Password then Add Fingerprint

“On your Mac, choose Apple menu > System Settings, then click Touch ID & Password in the sidebar. (You may need to scroll down.) Click Add Fingerprint, enter your password, then follow the onscreen instructions.” — Apple User Guide
