Your data, plainly.

Osnivo is built to help you understand your devices — not to track you. Here is everything we collect across osnivo.com, the blog and the Q&A, and why.

The short version

  • No ads, no ad trackers, and no third-party analytics.
  • We never sell or rent personal data.
  • Fonts, scripts and images on our pages are served from osnivo.com itself — your browser doesn't call Google Fonts or similar services when you read Osnivo.
  • You can read everything without an account. An account is only needed to post in the Q&A.

Server logs

  • Like every website, our web server records technical request data: IP address, date and time, the page requested, the referring page and your browser's user-agent string.
  • We use these logs only to keep the service secure and working (for example, to block abuse and fix errors). They are kept for a limited time and are not used to build profiles.

Cookies

  • osnivo.com sets a session cookie and a security (CSRF) token cookie. They are needed for forms such as the contact form to work and expire when the session ends.
  • The Q&A (/forum) sets a session cookie, plus a "remember me" cookie only if you choose it when logging in.
  • The blog (/blog) sets cookies only for people who log in to write or manage it. Readers get none.
  • We do not use advertising, tracking or social-media cookies.

Q&A accounts

  • To post in the Q&A you create an account with a username, e-mail address and password. Passwords are stored only as secure hashes.
  • Your e-mail address is used to confirm your account, reset your password and send notifications you opt into. It is never shown publicly.
  • Questions, answers and your username are public — please don't post serial numbers, Apple Account details or other personal information about your devices.

Contact form & e-mail

  • When you use the contact form we store your name, e-mail address, message and IP address so we can reply and prevent spam.
  • E-mails we send (account confirmations, replies) are delivered through an e-mail delivery provider, which processes the address and message only to deliver it.

Your choices

  • Ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, or to correct or delete it — use the contact form and choose "Privacy / my data".
  • You can delete your Q&A posts yourself, and we will delete your Q&A account on request.
  • We keep contact messages only as long as needed to handle them.

Changes

  • If we add something that changes this page — for example privacy-friendly visitor statistics or accounts on osnivo.com — we'll update it here first and change the date below.
