Guest User mode is the designed way to share. Start it from Control Center → Guest User on the Vision Pro (choose 'All Apps' or hand-pick apps), then hand over the headset within five minutes. With visionOS 2.4+, the guest can instead put the headset on, and the owner approves the session from a nearby iPhone or iPad (same Apple Account, iOS/iPadOS 18.4+) — this flow needs 'Enable Guest User with Nearby Device' turned on in Settings → Optic ID & Passcode first.
Separation: the guest goes through their own eye-and-hand setup, and while the session runs, Optic ID, Persona and Apple Pay are locked to the owner's account. But be precise about privacy: guests use the owner's apps — inside an allowed app, a guest can see the owner's data. Settings areas like Apple Account and Health are unavailable while a passcode is set.
Memory: one guest's eye/hand setup can be saved for up to 30 days — if they don't return, it expires and they redo setup. The 30-day retention arrived with visionOS 2; starting sessions from a nearby device came with visionOS 2.4.
There's no permanent multi-user mode — Guest User sessions are the intended sharing model.
